What Will Come In Tech In 2016?

With the year 2015 coming to a close it’s time to look ahead and see what 2016 will bring. What will be the new trends in fashion, health, dating and tech?

Tech Futurist & Innovation Expert Daniel Burrus answers this question for the latter. In his article ’10 Technology Driven Hard Trends Shaping 2016′ he discusses what he believes will be the most relevant trends in tech in the year to come.

The internet of things, drones, cyber security and more contactless payments are on the horizon, according to Burrus, amongst other innovations.

The internet of things is wide considered as the ‘next big thing’ in technology and, to me, that seems like the logical progression of the internet. It won’t be long until we can control our car, house and most of our life with the click of a button on our smartphone.

When I went Christmas shopping in the south of France two weeks ago the most prominent “toy” I saw in the electronic stores were drones. However, the real innovation lies not with the retail consumer but with business for services such as delivery or agriculture. A point that Burrus makes.

Contactless payments, especially with the younger generation, will continue to rise as Apple Pay, Google and bitcoin continue to see further adoption and cyber security has been a hot topic for a while now with more and more hacker attacks internationally. A trend that will also continue in 2016.
